Panagiotis Giannakis has asked to testify in support of the prosecution in Greece's bribery and match-fixing case and is expected in court on Monday, his lawyer Andreas Mitsainas said. The probe covers 2016 to 2026 and six suspects, including Hellenic Basketball Federation president Vangelis Liolios and EuroLeague referees, over about 50 suspicious games. Olympiacos issued a statement denying any involvement, saying the club's name is not in the case file, and AEK said it will ask for the file over AEK-Promitheas games that are part of it.
"This whole situation is a dark cloud over Greek basketball. And he will personally contribute to exposing what took place, including what was done against him." - Andreas Mitsainas
