EuroLeague Basketball has suspended referee Vasiliki Tsaroucha from all its competitions after she was arrested at a Greek airport on Wednesday on her return from a EuroCup game in Turkey. Greek Basketball Federation president Vangelis Liolios is among those reportedly arrested in the investigation into suspected bribery and match-fixing in Greek competitions, which looks at conduct going back at least five years. Authorities found €820,000 in cash in a safe at the home of a referee. Referees Ilias Koromilas and Petros Papapetrou, also named in the case, have worked EuroLeague games in parts of the 2018-2026 period. The suspects were due before judicial authorities in Athens on Thursday. None of the allegations have been tested in court. Patrick Beverley, who played for PAOK last season, wrote that Tsaroucha had refereed his game against Panathinaikos.
