Valencia Basket, Dubai Basketball, Paris Basketball and PAOK are the leading candidates in the first stage of EuroLeague expansion, BasketNews reported, after Spanish outlet Encestando first named the four. The entry fee is expected to start at €50 million, and the league has 15 bids worth a combined €1.2 billion. If all eight franchise spots are awarded, 21 of the 24 clubs would hold permanent membership. According to BasketNews sources, the NBA opposes a 24-team EuroLeague.
